Takeoff, a member of the rap group Migos, was tragically murdered outside a private party in Houston, according to the police.
Authorities say Takeoff, who was one-third of the platinum-selling rap group Migos, was shot and died early Tuesday in Houston, Texas. He was 28.
According to Houston Police Department Chief Troy Finner, police received a call about a shooting in progress about 2:34 a.m. local time. Officers came at the 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston, where there was a private party, and discovered a deceased male at the shooting scene.
Two other persons were hurt in the shooting, a 23-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman, and were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Sgt. Michael Arrington of the police department’s homicide division.
Employees informed authorities that when the party finished, a huge gathering of people gathered outside the building’s front door, resulting in the shooting. According to Finner, at least 40 persons were there at the time of the incident.
“A number of folks that were there fled the scene and did not stay to provide a statement,” Arrington explained.
Finner identified the deceased man as Kirshnik Khari Ball, a member of the rap trio Migos known as Takeoff.
“I got numerous calls from Houston and beyond, and everyone spoke about what a great young man he is, how peaceful he is, what a great artist (he is),” Finner said, later adding that Takeoff was well respected and peaceful.
“I don’t think he’ll be involved… “We have no basis to suspect he was involved in any criminal activity at the time,” Finner added.
Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner stated that he and Takeoff’s mother met.
“It makes no difference how renowned you are. “You might not be renowned at all,” Turner remarked. “Anyone who loses his or her life is a life gone, and there are family members and friends who are in mourning.”
Rest in Peace TakeOff
